Futures Capacity Academy (UK) helps leaders across business, government and research build real foresight capability – so they can navigate uncertainty, anticipate change and make better decisions over time. Our work is crafted, not commoditised: framework-led, method-disciplined and designed to translate insight into action.

In an age of dashboards, automation and “instant insights”, it is easy to confuse foresight with prediction. We take a different view. The future cannot be observed directly – so foresight is not about finding “the data of the future”. It is about designing a disciplined process that combines evidence with expert judgement, stakeholder intelligence and creative exploration, and then links it to real decision cycles.

FCA is built on 25+ years of research and international delivery. We are not “anti-technology”. In fact, Dr Rafael Popper helped pioneer early online foresight tools in the 1990s and continues to support the development of bespoke foresight and horizon scanning platforms where it adds real value. When software is needed, it is typically delivered through Futures Diamond as part of applied consulting work – while FCA remains focused on learning, capability building and high-quality facilitation.

Dr Rafael Popper is a global scholar–practitioner in strategic foresight and sustainable innovation. Over 25 years he has led 100+ programmes, trained 4,000+ professionals, authored 200+ research outputs, and supported major research and innovation initiatives internationally. His frameworks and publications have helped shape foresight practice across organisations, sectors and regions.
